Classic homemade chocolate chip cookies that are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside

- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
- Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl
- Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy
- Beat in vanilla and eggs
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients
- Fold in chocolate chips
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheets
- Bake for 9-11 minutes until golden brown
- Cool on wire rack
Notes
Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies. Can substitute chocolate chips with nuts or other mix-ins.
