- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined
- In a large stand mixer, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in vanilla extract
- Gradually add dry ingredient mixture to wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined
- Fold in chocolate chips using a rubber spatula until evenly distributed
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies 2 inches apart
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and centers are set but still soft
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely
Notes
For chewier cookies, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store in airtight container for up to 5 days.
